Victor A. Trusty

Services honoring the life of Victor Trusty will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Garnett Assembly of God, Tulsa. Burial with military honors will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family there from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Victor was born on June 30, 1925 in Paris, Arkansas to Ross and Rebecca (Pitts) Trusty. Victor passed away in his home in Owasso, Oklahoma on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the age of 92. Victor married Betty Scrudder on June 21, 1946. Their union was blessed with two children, Larry Ray and Helen Sue. Victor was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and loved spending time with them. Victor worked in the maintenance department at Oklahoma Natural Gas. He retired after 30 years of service. Victor faithfully served his country in the United States Army. During World War II he served in Germany as a rifleman with the 4th Armored Division. In his spare time, you could find Victor tending his garden, he was very proud of his strawberry patches. Victor became an avid runner late in life and ran in the Tulsa Run and several other runs in the Tulsa area winning many medals. Victor love to play Skip Bo, dominoes and checkers with anyone that would play. He especially liked to play with Betty and Helen. He always would play a game of checkers or Skip Bo with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Victor was a member of Woodland Park Assembly of God where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for over 25 years. He also set a record for never missing a day of Sunday School for over 25 years. At the time of his passing he was a member of Garnett Assembly of God. He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He adored his family and loved spending time with them. He always had a big smile on his face anytime the grandchildren and greatgrandchildren came to visit. Victor is survived by, Wife, Betty Trusty, Owasso, OK Daughter, Helen Derton and husband David, Owasso, OK Daughter in law, Gayla Trusty, Owasso, OK Grandchildren, Stacy Hicks and wife Hannah, Owasso, OK Amy Trusty, Muskogee, OK Kim Tolbert and husband Tyson, Merced, CA Great Grandchildren, Dillon and Kelcey Hicks, Bailey, Emily, Riley, and Avery Sexton, Noah, Levi, Asher Tolbert Many nieces, nephews and dear friends Victor was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry, brothers Opal, Orion, and Gordon, Sister Faye and grandson Jeff. The family would like to thank all those from St. Francis Hospice that became like family and took excellent care of Victor and support for Betty in the last 18 months.
