Vera Jane Brissey was born Tuesday, April 7th, 1931 to John Clark and Allie (Rutherford) Metzger in Twin Hills, Oklahoma. On April 26th, 2021 she left her family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to greet her Lord and Savior. She was 90 years, 19 days of age. Her services are under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Vera met Max and their first date was February 14th, 1948. They married 3 years later on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 1951. They were married at the Broken Arrow Assembly of God Church at the original location on the corner of Detroit and Main Street. Vera was a very devout Christian woman who loved Jesus. They had three children and she nurtured them and taught them of God’s goodness. She instilled in them to love and serve the Lord. Vera was an exceptional Homemaker and an asset to Max, helping run Brissey’s Dairy Farm. She enjoyed going with him to dairy sales. She was fond of traveling with Max. Above all, Vera loved her family dearly. She was a remarkable wife, loving mother and wonderful Grandmother. Vera was a singer and musician. She sang on the ‘Tidings of Peace’ radio broadcast on Sunday mornings. She had a beautiful voice, sang in the church choir and also the “Lady’s Trio”. She sang every chance she could. Vera was talented and could play the accordion. She enjoyed playing for church services. Vera was deeply involved with the leadership of the church, serving faithfully as the wife of a Board Member, for many years. She was a pillar in the community, helping shape the future of town and church. Vera touched the lives of so many with her kindness and beautiful smile. She will surely be missed! She is survived by, Husband, Max Brissey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Daughter, Peggy Brissey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Sons, Philip Brissey and wife, Dawn, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Charles Brissey and wife, Kerri, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Grandchildren, Breia Brissey, Summer Hill and husband, Chris, Austin Brissey, Justin Brissey, Seth Brissey Great-Grandchildren, Mila Hill and Demi Hill Sister, Pauline Smith Preceded in death by her parents and grandson, David Brissey.
