Terry Griffin

Terry R. Griffin was born on November 21, 1951, in Sylacauga, Alabama to H.K. and Wanda Griffin. From the very beginning, Terry’s life was rooted in family, faith and a deep love for the people around him. He was also dedicated to his country, exemplified by his service in the United States Army. Terry shared more than 55 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Carol (Hansen). Together they built a life full of laughter, devotion, and support, raising two sons, JT and Travis, who were the pride of his life.Terry was a hands-on, present father - always showing up, always cheering the loudest, and always leading by example. Terry was also proud of his career. After a short time in accounting, he found his passion with Ford Glass Plant, where he worked until his retirement in the early 2000s. An avid outdoorsman, Terry found great joy on the water and in the field. He loved fishing and spent countless hours competing in tournaments and jackpots, often alongside his close friends and his sons. Hunting - especially bird hunting - was another passion, made even more meaningful when shared with his sons and later his grandsons. Those days created memories that will be treasured forever. Terry also had a deep love for baseball. He never missed a chance to watch his boys play and was just as dedicated when it came to his grandchildren, never missing a single game. And while he loved sports, Terry’s support knew no bounds - he was always front and center at ballet recitals, choir concerts, and soccer games. If his family was involved, Terry was there. Above all, Terry was a devoted and loving grandfather. His four grandchildren -Cole, Cade, Hope, and Jake - were truly the apple of his eye. He poured his heart into them, never missing an event and never failing to make each one feel deeply loved. Terry was also extremely active in his church, the Church of God, where his faith guided his life and where many friends became family. His kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving in-laws, Bob (Pop) and Virginia (Mom) Hansen, his brother-in-law David Hansen, and his sister, Pam Griffin. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; his sons JT and wife Heather, and Travis and wife Mandy; and his four cherished grandchildren, Cole, Cade, Hope, and Jake. He is also survived by his parents, H.K. and Wanda Griffin, and many other loving family members. Terry lived a life defined by love, faith, and presence. He showed up for his family, his friends, his church, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so completely.
