Shyrlene Gregory

A graveside service for Shyrlene Gregory will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Bixby Cemetery, 151st St. and Sheridan, Bixby, OK followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlake Assembly of God, Tulsa. Friends may visit Hayhurst Funeral Home, Broken Arrow on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family there to receive guests from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Shyrlene passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 4, 2016. She was 66. Shyrlene was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 8, 1949 to John Calvin and Melba Ruth (Dea) Moore. She was born and raised in Texas where she graduated from Coahoma High School in 1968. Shyrlene was a decorated drum majorette in the Coahoma High School Band. She continued her education by attending Howard County College in Big Spring, TX and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. On May 24, 1969 Shyrlene married the love of her life, Mr. Kenneth Gregory, in a Coahoma, Texas wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with three children. Shyrlene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and was completely devoted to them. Shyrlene’s love of family did not stop with her immediate family. She was fascinated by genealogy and loved researching her family history. She was proud of her family heritage and enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Shyrlene was also a member of Woodlake Assembly of God and attended all three campuses. Shyrlene was very creative and mastered any skill required of her. She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed crafting and mending items for her family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4110 S 100th E. Ave., Grant Building, Suite 101, Tulsa, OK 74146. Shyrlene is survived by, Husband, Kenneth Gregory, Bixby, OK Children, Wendi Simmons and husband Duke, Bixby, OK Kenny Gregory and wife Kathy, Weatherford, OK Prissi Klepczyk and husband Brian, Claremore, OK Grandchildren, Scarlett, Noah, Isaac, Milady, Hannah, Jaken, Noah, Elijah Brother, John L. Moore and wife Karon, Dennison, TX Brother-in-law, Howard Gregory, Jewett, TX Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family. Shyrlene was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law.
