Sharon LaCroix

Sharon Kay (Kendrick-Tillery) LaCroix was born September 13, 1942. She was 81 years old. On September 30, 2023, she heard the whisper of her name as she was called home to be with her savior. Sharon was born in Nowata, OK and grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma where she lived a modest life with her parents and brother. She learned to cook and sew from her mother. If there is one thing, we could say about Sharon is that she was a fabulous cook and an amazing seamstress, which we all had the privilege of wearing the clothes she made us. She loved crafts and later became an accomplished quilter. Shortly after she graduated from Charles Page High School in 1960, she married her husband of 49 years, George Lee Tillery from West Siloam Springs, OK who passed away in December 2009. They had three children together: Lisa, Barbara and Michael. They spent many years creating a comfortable life for themselves and their children. Even though they made many moves, she never failed to make each house a home; welcoming to all who entered. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Sharon was a do-er, if you wanted something done everyone knew she would step in to take care of it! She was very resourceful, creative and could always “figure it out”. She had active roles in her church serving in the choir, kitchen, bible school and church camps. Sharon was an animal lover, always had beautiful flowers and a garden full of vegetables, which she loved canning. In 2013, Sharon married her second husband, Alvis “Ray” LaCroix. They were great companions and lived happily together until he passed in February 2022. They enjoyed each other’s company and traveling visiting family and friends. Sharon spent her spare time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she could, attending dance recitals and ball games, cheering them on from the stands, just as she did her own children. She was never idle for one minute and never said no to family time. The family would like to extend our unending love and gratitude to Lisa and Justin Meacham and the entire staff at Beehive Homes of Glenpool for their unwavering, unconditional love and care they provided Ray and Sharon during their short time there. She is preceded in death by her first love, George Tillery, second husband Alvis LaCroix, her parents, Alfred and Maxyne Kendrick, her brother, Gary Kendrick and her grandson, Micah Morgan. Sharon is survived by her three children: Lisa and her husband Perry Totman, Barbara and her husband David Foster, and Michael and his wife Angela Tillery. Six grandchildren: Amy, Cole, Hannah, Jackson, Claire and Jacob. Four great grandchildren: Kaylee, Brock, Chaney and Brantley. Two great, great grandchildren: Laela and Jalen, in addition to cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association.
