A celebration of the life of Richard Clarkson, Jr. will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Richard will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit Hayhurst Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richard was born on Thursday, July 16, 1936 in Ladd, Illinois to Richard Emmanuel Clarkson, Sr. and Florence (Senneff) Clarkson. Richard passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Richard graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa with the class of 1955. He then served his country as a member of the United States Army. He is a member of the Community of Christ Church. Richard and his wife of 60 years, Donna Jean (Stumbo) Clarkson, were married in Turley, Oklahoma on June 22, 1956. They were blessed with two children, Robin Renee (Clarkson) Buchman and Russell Elliot Clarkson. Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He loved his family and worked hard all his life. Richard worked as a Design Engineer. He retired from Yuba after more than 40 years and finished his career at Cust-O-Fab. Richard loved to hunt, fish and golf in his free time. He enjoyed the outdoors and could usually be found on his 2 ½ acres working on something or fixing something for others. Richard adored his grandchildren and the family asks memorials be made to The Little Lighthouse, 5120 E. 36th St., Tulsa, OK 74135. Richard is survived by, Wife, Donna Clarkson, of the home, Broken Arrow, OK Children, Robin Buchman, Broken Arrow, OK Russell Clarkson and wife Florence, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Brooke Elaine Lund and husband Josiah, Norman, OK Christopher Elliot Clarkson, Broken Arrow, OK Sisters, Donna Moran, Tulsa, OK Sandra Hawkins and husband Bill, Collinsville, OK Brothers, Robert Clarkson and wife Eadie, Wagoner, OK Mervyn Clarkson, Tulsa, OK Numerous other loving family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arlan Clarkson, grandson Blake Buchman and son-in-law Steve Buchman.
