Patricia "Pat" Jennings

Patricia Ann Jennings went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 2, 2024. After a few months in the hospital, she died peacefully of natural causes. Pat was born at home on February 10, 1938 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Paul and Gladys Burt. Pat went to Midwest City High School and was the President of Student Council, she won the best actress award in high school, as well as being declared the most friendly of her senior class. Pat engaged in the Pep Club and was gifted in her academics. Pat was quite fashionable and worked at Langstons Department Store while in High School. Pat went to the University of Oklahoma and was in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority for one semester before getting married. Pat met Al Jennings and married him in 1956 while Al was in the U.S. Army. They were stationed at Oakland Army Terminal where he was a Chaplains Assistant. The lived in Martinez, CA until 1958. After leaving California and Al leaving the military, he and Pat moved to Midwest City, OK and he started working for Farmer’s Insurance Group. Due to her husband’s job, they moved several times before returning to Oklahoma. Pat was a prominent realtor and loved her job. Pat had two sons, Steve Jennings on January 5, 1959 and Mike Jennings on June 30, 1961. Pat loved her boys so much, which she often talked about in her last few months of life. Pat was involved in a sorority, Beta Sigma Phi (Sisters of the Heart) for many years and continued to stay connected. Through the years, Pat and her husband attended many events and trips with Farmer’s Insurance which she enjoyed. On December 26th, 2006, they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Pat was a dedicated daughter, sister, mother, friend, and faithful servant, which many admired about her. She loved her pets including her dogs over the years, however Chopper, her beloved Chihuahua for the last 8 years has been her faithful companion. Chopper even came to visit Pat while she was in rehab and long-term care over the last few months. Pat was known for her great wit and sense of humor which was present until the day she died. Pat was pre-deceased by: her husband, parents, son, Steve, and brother-in-law Jim Dupy. She is survived by: her son, Mike and wife, Tracey Jennings, grandchildren, Mallory and Holden Cobb, sister Joy Dupy of Edmond, OK and Joy’s children, Scott and Sherri Dupy, Angela and Jon White, Lori and Mike Freeman, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow on Sunday, July 7th from 2:00-4:00 PM, as well as a graveside service on Monday, July 8th at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
