Michael "Blake" Lewis

A celebration of the life of Michael “Blake” Lewis will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in the Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Blake passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015. He was 22 years of age. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 2, 1993, Blake was the son of Bret Lewis and Lisa (Ober) Lewis. Blake graduated from Jenks High School in 2012. He was studying Economics at Oklahoma University with plans to attend law school. Blake was the type of person who embraced each moment he experienced. He loved to spend time with family and friends smiling and laughing; he was always seen having a great time. He had an incredibly genuine heart, was loving to all, and cared for others well-being deeply. He strived to be the best man he could be - one after God's own heart. He was a loving and respectful son and brother, jovial and kind to his friends; the type of person who didn't know a stranger. Blake was an exceptional human being. He had many interests and an intellect to match; he was someone who could easily immerse himself in a multitude of things and excel. He loved being surrounded by nature, it brought him peace and time of reflection. He wrote incredibly well and enjoyed reading a variety of books and publications. He also had a special interest in chess. Blake invested time in maintaining a healthy body, enjoyed working out and liked all kinds of sports. He ran cross country, played rugby and basketball (to name a few); he was a very athletic and especially enjoyed running. Blake also had a strong spiritual life which was a top priority in his day-to-day activities; he was a humble and earnest young man. He found his place of worship at Life Church South Tulsa Campus.
