Marvin Bloss

Services honoring the life of Marvin Lee Bloss will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2019 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will be 12:00 p.m., Monday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Viewing will be at Hayhurst Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family there to receive visitors from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Marvin was born in Dewey, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 21, 1934 to Myrl and Thelma (McIntire) Bloss. Marvin passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the age of 85. Marvin graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1952. After graduation, Marvin worked for Western Electric as a switching technician. In 1956, Marvin began service in the US Army. After graduating from Radar School in Huntsville, Alabama, Marvin served at the White Sands Missile Range and Testing Grounds in New Mexico. He worked with the Nike Hercules Missiles until his honorable discharge in 1958. Marvin continued his career working for ITT Kellogg and Cross Telephone Company. He graduated from Connors State College while working. From 1977 until his retirement in 1992, Marvin worked for GTE. Marvin married Nancy Jane Weaver in 1954. They built their life in Muskogee for over 50 years. Their union was blessed with three children. Marvin was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family and loved spending time with them. Marvin served on the board at Muskogee First Assembly. Marvin and Nancy Jane moved from Muskogee to Owasso, OK in 2013 to be closer to family. While in Owasso, he attended Friendship Baptist Church and Owasso First Assembly of God. Marvin enjoyed singing, golfing, traveling and fishing.
