Lillian E. Bradshaw

A longtime native Tulsan, Lillian Emmaline (Byrd) Bradshaw passed away Monday, August 3, 2015. Lillian was born to Millard Jackson and Oma (Brumble) Byrd on October 14, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During difficult times, Lillian's family moved to Pryor. At the Whitaker Children's Home, Lillian perfected her homemaking skills and became an excellent seamstress. She also played in the band and attended Pryor High School. Lillian later transferred to Tulsa Central High School where she completed her secondary education in 1950. On April 15, 1950, Lillian married the love of her life, Curtis Oliver Bradshaw. They were married forty-one years before Curtis passed away on September 9, 1991. Lillian and Curtis were residents of Tulsa and Owasso for the past 65 years. They raised four children, including one son David Curtis Bradshaw, and three daughters Beverly Anne Worrell. Betsy Lynn Bradshaw, and Joanna Lea Hensley. Lillian's love for God and family was always her first priority, but she often cared for her extended family, friends, and all those she could help. Her creativity and talent showed as she was the seamstress for all of her children. Her love of cooking, canning, gardening, and music filled her home. She was very generous with all she had. Lillian often said, "You just have to let people be themselves." She truly accepted people for who they were...looking past any faults or shortcomings and appreciating them for their unique God-given talents. Lillian's legacy includes the love of family, friends, and service. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters Rosemary (Byrd) Kilburn and Francis (Byrd) Bradshaw, as well as her son-in-law Wesley Dean Worrell. Lillian is survived by her children David and Barbara Bradshaw, Beverly Worrell, Betsy Bradshaw, and Joanna and Mark Hensley, one brother Marvin Byrd and his wife Mary, her grandchildren Ben Bradshaw, Beth and Chris Deason, Tara and Greg Inzerillo, Dena and Paul Bour, Wesley Worrell, Ali Hensley, and Emma Hensley, her great-grandchildren Tyler Bradshaw, Liam Deason, Miriam Deason, Nicholas Inzerillo, Nathan Inzerillo, and Paul Bour, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Lillian are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
