John Moon

John Moon, age 79, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior from the comfort of home on February 2nd, 2026. He was born John “Richard” Moon on December 4th, 1946 in Joplin, Missouri to parents Lester and Reitchie (Laird) Moon. The family moved to Broken Arrow when Richard was a boy where he graduated high school in 1964. On May 5th, 1972 he married the love of his life, Donna Moon in Miami, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Craig, Adrienne, and Kindall and later with two grandchildren, Luke and Valerie. They were married 50 years until her passing on December 8th , 2022. After high school, John enlisted in the United States Air Force where he attended technical school. He served four years before returning home and beginning work at Braden Winch as a machinist. In the mid 70’s, he joined the Air National Guard where he specialized in electronics and communications with a high security clearance ana served until his retirement in 2006. He also began working at the Radford OCV Control Valves company as a machinist. There he ran a complicated machine, doing custom work and could often be found fixing the mistakes of his coworkers. He could run any machine and run it well. He retired after 39 years in April of 2014. Richard enjoyed many things outside of work. He like reading military books, collecting coins, shooting guns, and he had a love for classic cars. The television was always blaring old episodes of Gunsmoke. He loved going out to eat and indulging in in anything sweet. He also loved his animals and keeping their tummies full of treats. Most of all, Richard loved his kids. He spent twenty years watching, coaching and traveling to countless sporting events and supporting on and off the field in any way he could. Richard is survived by his son, Craig Moon, daughters, Adrienne and Kindall Moon, grandchildren, Valerie and Luke Moon, sisters, Rosanna Corrales and Marty Wilson, nephew, Alex Davis and his beloved dog, Lillie. He is preceded in death by parents, Lester and Reitchie Moon and his wife, Donna Moon.
