Janette Francy

Mary Janette (Cosper) Francy was born in Logan County, Arkansas on December 20, 1938, to parents John and Bertha Cosper. She transitioned from this life, surrounded by family, on Friday August 30, 2024, in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 85. Janette attended Broken Arrow High School, where she played the alto saxophone in the band and was a talented baton twirler. She began dating Kenneth Francy during high school and they were married in December 1957, six months following her graduation. She began working for National Car Rental shortly after graduation in the role of secretary. She remained employed there until she retired as Office Manager in 2003 after 44 years of service. Janette was a dedicated member of Arrow Heights and First Baptist Church. She loved being an active member of those communities and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She had a charitable spirit and was involved in many efforts to help others over the years. She was able to apply her sewing skills to make hundreds of dresses for young women and girls in East Kenya. Ken and Janette were blessed with three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting family holiday events and meals and family vacations to Branson, Hawaii and Florida. Music was a big part of her life. She loved attending bluegrass and gospel music events and over the years played the piano, autoharp and ukulele. Another hobby was tending to her garden and watching the many species of birds that came to visit her yard. Her family remembers annual garden tours on Mother’s Day where they could all enjoy the fruits of her labor. Janette was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who would do anything for her family. She will be dearly missed by all whose life she touched. Janette is survived by: Children: Kerri Brown and Dale of Oklahoma City Felicia Sommers and Mel of Broken Arrow Derek Francy and Roxanne of Lakewood, Colorado Grandchildren: Kristin Forester and Adam Tarah Haught and Tyler Jason Brown and Christine Myles Sommers Grace Francy Cooper Francy Great-grandchildren: Evan Forester Connor Haught Harper Forester Sister: LaDonna Ross She is proceeded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Cosper, her husband, Ken Francy, and her sister Jacqueline Meier.
