Janelle Lott

Janelle Lott was born on Friday, July 21, 1950 in Jacksboro, Texas to Thurman and Sybil (David) Ledbetter. Janelle passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the age of 67. Janelle, the youngest of all her siblings, including her twin sister, was born and raised in Texas and she always had a love for her home state. Growing up in the country, Janelle loved helping take care of the family’s chickens, pigs and their one cow. Country living was not all work and Janelle loved to play outside with her siblings. They spent many happy days swimming in their pond or visiting the rock pit. During her school years, Janelle was on the drill team and active in Future Homemakers of America. She was the high school treasurer during her senior year and was in journalism, typing and tennis clubs. Janelle was crowned the Valentine Princess in her junior year and VICA Sweetheart for her senior year. She graduated from high school in Terrell, Texas with the class of 1969. Janelle worked as a Dental Assistant, a skill she first learned in the VICA courses during high school. Janelle was a valued employee and was very close with her much loved work family. She truly cared for her patients and would go above and beyond for those she cared for both in and out of the office. Janelle never hesitated to step up if she thought she could help someone. Janelle was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She adored her son and grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. Janelle enjoyed playing video games with her grandchildren and attending their sporting and cheerleading events. She was their biggest fan. Family was always important to Janelle and she loved going to the big family reunions in Texas and the family fish fry they have each May. One of her favorite times of year was Christmas when the family would celebrate with themed Christmas parties (ugly sweaters, pajamas or western themes), making that time of year all the more fun for the family. Janelle was a very patriotic person. She supported her country and was proud of her family’s military service. Her father fought in WWII with the 753rd Tank Battalion and her son Chad was in the Army’s 82nd Airborne unit. Janelle just loved people and enjoyed making others laugh. In her spare time, Janelle enjoyed gardening and keeping a perfect house. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Janelle is survived by, Son, Chad Lott and wife Tiffany, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Riley, Weston, Hudson and Landry Sisters, Janette Simons and husband Bobby, Kafman, TX Patsy Marshall and husband Bill, East Tawakoni, TX Brothers, Raymond Sparks and wife Pat, Terrell, TX David Ledbetter and wife Jennifer, Rowlett, TX Several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends Janelle was preceded in death by her parents. Two Celebrations of Life will be held. The first will be April 21, 2018 from 7-9 pm at The Museum Broken Arrow, 400 S. Main St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012. The second will be May 4, 2018 at the Residence of Bobby & Janette Simons 5600 Meadow Lane.
