Frankie Mozingo

Frances Marie Mozingo was born in Centerville, Arkansas, on Saturday, March 9, 1940, to parents Matt Douglas and Nora (Crow) Millner. Surrounded by family, she left her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to meet Jesus on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She was 85 years old. Plans for a memorial service to honor her are underway. Frankie was one of three children growing up in Arkansas. She graduated high school from Ola, Arkansas, in 1957. She continued her education at Sparks Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Smith to become a registered nurse. During this time, Frankie met the debonair and fun- loving Ivy Mozingo. They married November 23, 1963, settled in Tulsa and then later in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Frankie served 30 years as an RN at St. Francis Hospital, first as a surgical nurse before finishing her career in the Heart Cath Lab. Soccer was Frankie’s passion. She recognized the values, camaraderie and self-confidence it could bring to the kids she coached. She coached for 34 years, acclaiming recognition as the National Soccer Coach of the Year (1995); appointment as the US Olympic Development Coach (1996) and induction into the Oklahoma Soccer Hall of Fame (2006). But beyond all the honors, Frankie’s driving force for coaching was the players, “Frankie’s girls.” Frankie was always on the move. She enjoyed boating and fishing. She taught a countless number of kids how to ski on Ft Gibson Lake, where she and Ivy had a cabin. She relished travel both in the US and around the world with her children, grandchildren and long-time friends. She poured back into her community by supporting the Broken Arrow Neighbors as a volunteer. She was a member at the Arrow Heights Baptist Church. Frankie was a fierce and loving matriarch with a dry sense of humor. She lived a life of worthy of being called a Christian. She touched the lives of so many and will be sorely missed. Family left to cherish her, Children, Gene Mozingo and wife Sarah West of Tulsa, Oklahoma David Mozingo of Blairstown, Iowa Marsha Bruce and husband Alan of Coweta, Oklahoma Grandchildren, Dustin Mozingo and wife Kasey, Cassie Milliser and husband Cody Great-Grandchildren, Ayden Beesley Mozingo, (greatly anticipated) Truett Milliser Sibling, Janice Millner Nephew…….. ……. Mike Beaman Preceded in death by parents Matt and Nora Millner, husband Ivy Mozingo, and sibling Harry Millner.
