Donna Castle

Donna Jane Castle was born on Tuesday April 14, 1970 in Livonia, Michigan to parents, David and Jane (Powell) King. She passed away in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the age of 55. Donna was a graduate of Union High School Class of ‘88. She furthered her education at the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She soon after earned two Master’s degrees. One in Education from University of Central Oklahoma and the other in Education from East Central University. She enjoyed sports both as a spectator and as an athlete. She was a player for OU Women’s Soccer. She, of course, was also an OU football fan!! During those years, while working at J.D. McCartey Center, she met the handsome young Jeffrey Scott Castle. He proposed, and they were married in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 27, 1995. They had two children, Ryan Scott and Sara Jane. Donna adored her family. She was keen on helping organize family events, devoting enormous amounts of energy to provide the best for the people she loved most. This work gave her and her family roadtrips, summer activities, and frequent trips to the zoo. She liked to help her dad with home renovations, the biggest being the transformation of the upstairs attic into additional living space. She was happy to work with her father David, who she considered her hero. Education and the impact on young lives was very important to Donna. She cared about people and schoolchildren loved her. She taught special education at Kerr Junior High in Del City, OK. After moving back to Tulsa with a family of her own, she was a High School Counselor for Union Public Schools. She was a dedicated leader and inspiration to teachers, parents, and students alike. After retirement, Donna focused on her health. However, that didn’t stop her from also continuing to look out for her family. She remained persistent. She remained a leader of the family. She remained emotionally invested in the lives of loved ones until the day she left this earth. Her love and influence will remain with all who knew her.
