Deborah Anne McClain was born on Sunday, August 25, 1963 in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Howard W. and Norma R. (Kortering) Brower. She passed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025, at her home in Broken Arrow surrounded by family. She was 61 years of age. The former Miss Deborah Brower was the Valedictorian of the 1981 graduating class of Mead High School in Spokane, Washington, where she played on the golf team. She continued her education at the University of Tulsa, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Medical Technology degree in 1985. While at TU, she was a practice member of the women’s golf team. She married Thomas William “Tom” McClain on July 22, 1989 in Tulsa. Debbie was a true athlete, bowling her first 200 game at the age of nine and making her first hole in one at the age of 12. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, Tom, her two sons, Alex and Andy, and her bonus daughter, Brooke. Debbie enjoyed quality family time on Sunday afternoons and always made an effort to host monthly “Sibling Night” including board games, movies, and laughter. She loved attending TU sporting events, spending a day at the zoo or gardens, and painting at Pinot’s Palette with friends. Tom and Debbie are members of the Assembly Church in Broken Arrow and previously Spirit Life (Evangelistic Temple) Church in Tulsa. Debbie felt blessed to be involved in youth ministries and mission projects. Debbie was very active at Indian Springs Country Club. She served on several committees, such as the Couples Golf Association (CGA), Women’s Golf Association, Working Women’s Golf Association, and the Club Improvements Committee. She also volunteered on HOA’s for the neighborhood. One of her greatest passions was organizing the annual CGA member-guest tournament benefiting the First Tee Tulsa. Debbie will be remembered by her unwavering faith, servant heart, contagious smile, encouraging spirit, and the loving embrace of a 10 second hug.
