Rev. Billy L Hickman

Billy Lee Hickman, was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the Son of Burton Lee and Agnes Ann (Crews) Hickman. He passed this life on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. He was 86 years of age. Billy was a graduate of 1956 Graduate of Central High School in Tulsa. He married the former Miss Sherry Offineer on June 10, 1958 in Sumter, South Carolina. She preceded Billy on November 20, 2022. They are together again in their Heavenly home. Billy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from June 11, 1956 to June 10, 1960. Following his military service he received a Bachelor’s in Theology from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Billy was licensed to preach on January 5, 1969 at Cincinnati Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa and Ordained to Gospel Ministry on June 28, 1970 at Calvary Baptist Church in Holdenville. He pastored churches in Tulsa, Holdenville, Francis, Arkoma, Lawton, Broken Arrow and Enid, all in Oklahoma. He was the Director of Missions for the Sans Bois Baptist Association in Oklahoma from June 1, 1991 to December 1, 2007. During this time he was Interim Pastor for numerous churches in Oklahoma. He is survived by, Daughters, Teresa and husband, Dr. Paul Brady, Wilburton, OK Rhonda Carter, Broken Arrow, OK Son, Randall Lee Hickman, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Chad Lee Queck, Bethany and husband Gabe Provencher, Sheresea Carter, Christy Brady and husband Jun Then, Sabrena Hickman, Matthew Paul and wife Amanda Carter, Chad Hickman, Brittney Gentry, Austin Lee Hickman Great Grandchildren, Dallas, Blake, Caleb, Keegan, Ryley Lynn, Bailey May, Christian, Samuel, Paul and Elaine. Paul Brady and Ronnie Payne had a special time of recognition for Billy Hickman. Billy was the DOM from June 1991 to December 2007. Sharon Burnett, Secretary for SBBA for 22 years and Billy’s secretary for 16 of those years, spoke of her time with him. “He was a true ‘Pastor to the pastors.’ He ministered to pastors and churches to help them give glory to the Lord. Billy and his wife Sherry were a team. The fellowship of pastors and the people of Sans Bois grew under their leadership.” Sharon also shared the story of how Bro. Billy became known as spiderman. Paul Brady and Ronnie Payne presented Bro. Billy Hickman with a plaque of appreciation for his service while it showcased his original “DOM name plate”. Press Release 2023 Special recognition was given to Rev. Billy Hickman, for the 16+ years he and his wife, Sherry, served as the SBBA Director of Missions. Bro. Billy was licensed to preach in 1968 at Cincinnati Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1970 at Calvary Baptist Church in Holdenville. Hickman served as the SBBA Director of Missions June 1, 1991-December 1, 2007. Leading the tribute to Hickman was Paul Brady, Ronnie Payne, and Sharon Burnett. Bro. Hickman received a plaque for his service.
