William “Bill” Peter Farris, 69, loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, cousin, nephew and friend passed away February 12, 2022, in Grove, Oklahoma. Bill was born May 9, 1952, in Chicago, IL to the late Rolland Francis and Mary Anne Diemer Farris. Bill is preceded in death by Robbyn L. Howell Farris of Chattanooga, TN, the mother of his 2 sons, Michael W. Farris and Andrew T. Farris. Bill is survived by the love of his life, beloved wife, Susan Hanson Farris of Grove, OK. Together they blended their 5 children into a successful family. They include Brande’ Burns and 2 children of Pryor, Oklahoma; Michael Farris, (Melissa) and 3 children of Crystal Lake, IL; Timothy Graham, (Sarah) and 3 children of Piedmont, Oklahoma; Andrew Farris and 1 child of Scottsdale, AZ; and Maggie Farris of Huntley, IL. Bill is survived by his siblings, Marc F. Farris of Carmel, IN; David J. Farris (Shannon) San Antonio, TX; Lisa A. Cummins of Indianapolis, IN; Amy T. Schwarz (James) Palestine, TX; Robb G. Farris of McCordsville, IN; Scott T. Farris (Stephanie) of Indianapolis, IN, and Julie C. Hofmeister (Eric) of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Everyone who met Bill could not forget his infectious passion for life and his kind heart. You could find him on the golf course in his quintessential knickers, on the lake or spending time with Susan and their children and grandchildren. He also loved being with his 7 younger siblings, taking great pride in his role as oldest sibling. This role as leader helped shape him for many career successes in life. Bill played high school basketball at Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, IN, and continued his basketball career into college. He was inducted into the Indiana Tech Hall of Fame, having scored over 1000 points in his four-year career. Bill received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Mechanical Engineering and furthered his education with a Master’s of Business Administration. Upon graduation, he used his knowledge in the marketing and sales industry over the course of 45+ years. His precision and progressive management skills made him an outstanding leader-full of energy, knowledge and vision. Bill was responsible for substantially increasing revenue, creating and launching products and establishing business plans for major multi-divisional accounts. He had courage to lead with compassion and challenged others to be their best. Bill served on several executive boards, obtained titles of manager, presidential and CEO roles and lastly, founded his own consulting firm, Farris & Company, LLC. Thus, he guided clients and enhanced all realms of business operations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College and directed to the Mary Anne Diemer Farris ’46 Endowed Scholarship fund, and sent to: SMWC, Office of Advancement, PO Box 70, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN 47876. or, Bloomfield Athletics and directed to memorial fund in honor of William P. Farris, Bloomfield High School, 501 West Spring Street, Bloomfield, IN.47424. Service for Bill will be held Friday, February 18th, 1 PM, at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He will be interred at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK. A Catholic Mass will be held in Ottawa, OH at a future date.
