    Shirley Stephens

    October 27, 1943 - August 21, 2020

    Graveside Service honoring the life of Shirley Stephens will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 25th, 2020 at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial to follow service. Viewing will be at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family there to receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shirley Stephens was born on Wednesday, October 27, 1943 to Wayne and Eunice Stephens in Phoenix, Arizona. Shirley passed away on Friday, August 21 st , 2020 at the age of 76 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shirley graduated from Edison High School and went on to attend Tulsa Junior College. She worked as a bookkeeper and buyer’s secretary for a local manufacturing company. Shirley adored her family, but especially loved taking trips with her mother. The time she got to spend with her mother was very special to her. She loved children, and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Shirley was a devout Christian, enjoyed attending church, and loved the Lord. She loved staying in touch with friends and family. She loved to reminisce during family gatherings and could always be relied upon to relate humorous stories involving the family. She was definitely the family communicator. Shirley was loved and will be missed by many. Shirley is survived by, Sister, Sandy Swanson and Gene, of Tulsa, OK Carolyn Newbrough and Lee, of Broken Arrow, OK Nephew, Chris Newbrough and Debbie, of Broken, OK David Sutton and Magdalina, of Sanford, NC And several great nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Ann Stephens and nephew Stephen Lee Newbrough.
