Raymond Smith

August 10, 1939 - December 26, 2021

Raymond Neil Smith was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on August 10, 1939 to Troy and Mary (Baker) Smith. He passed from this life on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82. Raymond married Dixie White on January 30, 1959 in Jacksonville, Arkansas and she promptly converted him from Methodist to her Baptist faith. Raymond enjoyed traveling with Dixie, golfing, playing tennis, running, listening to music and activities with his family. Raymond was raised in North Little Rock Arkansas and graduated from high school there. He attended Little Rock University and Arkansas Law School and graduated with a banking degree from Southern Methodist University. He served our nation by joining the Army and Air Force National Guard. Raymond was a Loan Officer and President of banks in Arkansas and Oklahoma and ended his career in Siloam Springs Arkansas 18 years ago. His many civic and community activities included: President of the North Little Rock Jaycees, President of the Hospital Board and Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Board, Siloam Springs Arkansas, and board member of the special needs organization of Arkansas, Pathfinder Inc. He was a member of the Little Rock Scottish Rite Consistory, North Little Rock and Siloam Springs Masonic Lodges. Raymond is survived by: Wife, Dixie Smith of the home. Son, Scott Smith and wife, Lori, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Daughter, Wendy Cypress and husband, Charlie of Oolagah, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Ryan Cypress (Erin), Caitlin Cypress, Micah Cypress, Teegan Cypress, Hannah Key (Coleman), Hayley Thomas (Chris) and Lexi Smith. Great Grandchildren, Braxton Cypress, Emersyn Cypress, Carsyn Cypress, Parker Thomas and Collins Key. Sister, Vicki Harp of Springdale Arkansas Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Tyler Cypress.
