Martha Swart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Martha Brian-Swart of Broken Arrow, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the age of 90. Martha was born Friday, February 19, 1932 in Allendale, Illinois to Carey and Florence (Perrott) Milburn. Growing up she lived on a form in Lukin Township, Illinois. Her father died in an oilfield accident when Martha was 7 years old. She lived with her mother and extended family in Sumner, Illinois. Her family moved to Chicago, Whittier, California, but finally settled back in Sumner where she was baptized at the Sumner Church of Christ. She graduated from Sumner High School and later earned a College Level Business Certification. She married Joe L. Brian and their marriage was blessed with two sons. Tom, who was born in 1955 and Lewis, who was born in 1957. Because of Joes career in Oilfield Management, the family moved around the country to Illinois, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. Following Joe’s death, she married Richard Swart and they moved to Florida. Following the death of Richard, she moved to Tulsa to be close to son Tom, his wife Nancy, and her grandson Nathan. They enjoyed weekly visits which included eating out and having a good time together. Martha loved life. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, was active in her church, and loved singing and playing music. Her favorite songs were “What A Day That Will Be” and Frankie Lane’s “That’s My Desire”. Brian Richard Swart Son Lewis Brian Stepchildren Barb Swart Harburg, Tricia Swart Perry, Rich Swart Numerous Step Grandchildren Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to either: The Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Kindful Hospice, or Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow.
