March 4, 1933 - March 5, 2020
Our loving husband, father, Papa, brother, and faithful friend, Junior Leroy Beaver, passed away on March 5, 2020 after declining health. Junior was born on March 4, 1933 in Stella, Missouri to Floyd and Pearl Beaver. He was the fourth of seven children with three brothers and three sisters. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Horton, on July 24, 1952 and they had an incredible life together for 67 years. Junior was a tank commander in the US Army where he was sent to Germany as part of peace-keeping forces. Junior was defined by passion, purpose and singular focus. A self-taught man, he became a successful business owner in the construction industry. His flagship company was Action Roofing & Sheet Metal; he also did land development and home building in the Tulsa metropolitan area. Junior was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and invested countless hours and resources in churches and ministries. He cherished his family and friends. He loved bird hunting and playing games of any kind. His wit and dry humor kept everyone guessing at times but always laughing. Junior and Joan loved their church family at Cedar Ridge Christian Church, a wonderful blessing to them late in life. Junior is survived by his wife, Joan Beaver, his children, LeeAnn Shelton of Sapulpa, OK and Lucina Thompson & husband Kyle, of Dallas, TX. Papa’s sayings will be immortalized by his 5 grandchildren: Chad Shelton, Seth Shelton and Kent Shelton of Sapulpa, OK, Jordan Thompson and Audrey Thompson Burks & husband, John of Dallas, TX.
