Jerry Roberts

Paul J. (Jerry) Roberts of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, January 7th at the age of 83. Jerry was born in Boonville, Missouri on August 23rd, 1938 to Paul and Genevieve Roberts and had two siblings in Joyce and Mike. Jerry graduated from Butler High School in Butler, MO in 1956 where he played both football and basketball, and later graduated from Pittsburgh State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. At this time Jerry also married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Sue Dixon, also of Butler, Missouri. Together they rented their first apartment in Russell, Kansas, and after teaching and coaching in several Kansas high schools, including La Cygne and Gardner, he joined ADM Milling in 1974 as a claims adjuster and moved to Overland Park, Kansas with Brenda and their three sons, Greg, Jeff, and Doug. Jerry was promoted to vice-president of the owner operator division of ADM Trucking and transferred to Decatur, IL in 1984 where he worked until he retired in 1996. He and Brenda later moved to Broken Arrow, OK to help his brother Mike as a sales rep for Burnes Picture Frames which they both enjoyed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Genevieve, brother Mike, wife Brenda, and son Jeff. Jerry is survived by his sister Joyce, sons Greg (Jeanna) and Doug, two grandchildren, Drew (Jessica) and Hayden, and one great-grandchild, AJ. He is greatly missed.
