JD Wilson

A graveside service honoring the life of JD Wilson will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Floral Haven Cemetery. JD passed away peacefully in his home in Mounds, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 16, 2016. He was 88 years old. JD was born to Steve and Stella (Jones) Wilson on August 14, 1927 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of six children. JD was an athletic person and he loved to play sports. He played on one of the best teams as Quarterback. Later he coached the baseball team “The Gas House Gang” for many years. On July 17, 1948 JD married the love of his life, Norma Jane Peterson in a Wagoner, Oklahoma wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with 2 children. JD was a wonderful husband and father. He loved and cherished his family. JD raised his family in Broken Arrow before moving to Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma. JD was employed as a construction supervisor before he retired. He enjoyed gardening and hunting in his retirement years. He raised wolf hounds and loved the breed.
