September 10, 1956 - July 24, 2020
Donna Jane “Janie” Tiller passed into the arms of our Savior at 9:36am, Friday, July 24th, 2020 after a hard fought battle with an illness. Janie was born on September 10th, 1956 in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Noel David and Emma Jane (Beard) Wece. She married the love of her life, Stanley Wayne Tiller of Choctaw, Oklahoma on June 8th, 1974 at Sooner Baptist Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Janie was an incredible wife, mother, Grammie, and friend. She was an active member of Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She had a passion for serving others, exemplified by many of the things that she did. She enjoyed quilting, and blessed many others with these handmade gifts of love. Janie enjoyed cooking, especially Wednesday night meals at Arrow Heights and at Friendship Baptist Church while she and Wayne lived in Connecticut. She was a certified grief recovery facilitator and has counseled many through their grief and loss both in Broken Arrow and Torrington, Connecticut. She was a mentor to, and adored by, countless young women through life groups over the years. She was a wiz with numbers and finances. Janie had a genuine compassion for others. She volunteered at Hope Is Alive helping to encourage individuals who were recovering from addiction. Janie never met a stranger, in fact, when she met others they didn’t become simply a friend, but rather family. Janie loved to travel with her husband Wayne. One of her favorite places to visit was Vail, Colorado, especially if her entire family traveled with them. Janie adored her husband and loved caring for him, their family, and their home. She deeply loved her daughters, their husbands, and her six grandchildren. A large part of Janie’s legacy is that she was able to pass her love for Christ and people to her daughters, who with their husbands, are passing that love to the next generation. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Uncle Robert “Bob” Beard, and her nephew Josh Bell. She is survived by her husband Wayne Tiller of the home, daughter Kimberly Kizzia and husband Chris of Broken Arrow, daughter Kelli McElroy and husband Greg of Claremore, brother Mike Wece of Midwest City, sister Susan Gardner of Midwest City, brother Greg Wece and wife Toni of Choctaw, uncle Stanley Beard and wife Bonnie of Midland, Texas, grandchildren Jadynn, Kiera, and Livia Kizzia and Eli, Ethan, and Evan McElroy, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In honor of their Grammie, her six grandchildren will serve as honorary pall bearers. Funeral services will be Thursday July 30th at 10:00am at Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
