Frances Yager

Frances Elouise Ward Yager, 87, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Frances was born September 4, 1933 in Kellyville, Oklahoma to Orpha and Alfred Ward. Frances attended Jenks High School where she graduated in 1951. On May 3, 1954 she married Ernest R. Yager, Jr. Frances was a woman of great faith. She was one of six children who grew up loving to jump rope and play jacks, but fishing was her all-time favorite. She was very active in her church youth group where she met her husband Ernie. Ernie and Frances had two children, Phillip and Cecilia. Her family was always very special to her. She loved to cook and bake for countless family celebrations and gatherings. Her family describes her as “being the glue that holds our family together.” Her career consisted of Television Outreach Coordinator for Rhema Bible Church, Administrative Assistant at Evangelistic Temple Church, and Coordinator of Correspondence Studies Department at Oral Roberts University. After retirement, she enjoyed her time reading, cooking, fishing and traveling to many different destinations with her husband. Frances is proceeded in death by her parents, four siblings, and her husband, Ernie. Survivors include her son, Phillip W. Yager and his wife, Sherry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her daughter, Cecilia R. Yager and her partner Renee, of Meriden, Kansas; one brother, Reverend Everett L. Ward and his wife Carolyn, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Josh Yager of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cameron Yager of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and one granddaughter, Lily Yager of Meriden, Kansas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Frances was a very loving, kind, generous, and caring person who will be missed by many.
