Doug Freeth Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Douglas Alan Freeth was born in Syracuse, New York on Friday, October 23, 1942. He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 79. Doug was active in sports as a child and was a Buffalo Bills fan for life. After graduating from high school in Cortland, New York, Doug joined the U.S. Army where he served for three years from 1960-1963 based out of Fort Hamilton, New York. After his time serving his country, Doug went to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken. He moved into an apartment and was neighbors with a young lady by the name of Donna Fladie. They met when Donna’s cat wandered into Doug’s apartment. After a brief courtship, they married on January 9, 1971, in Rochester, New York. They became parents to four children, two boys and two girls. In 1980, Doug was transferred by KFC to the Tulsa area, and they moved their family to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Doug worked in the food service industry for over 47 years. Doug was active at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Broken Arrow, sang in the choir and performed in several plays through the years. He enjoyed coaching soccer for his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are wife Donna of the home in Broken Arrow Daughter Jennifer Burkeen and her husband, Gib, of Broken Arrow Son Michael Freeth and his wife, Tammy, of Oswego, New York Son Eric Freeth of Broken Arrow Daughter MaryAnn Freeth of El Dorado Springs, Missouri 10 Grandchildren: Kelsie, Preston, Macie, A.J., Noah, Kennedy, Sierra, Miranda, Caitlyn, and Marion 3 Great Grandchildren: Teigan, Kreed, and Cameron And numerous nieces and nephews Those who preceded Doug in death are his parents and two brothers: Duane Freeth and Ray Hobart
