Bill Patterson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In lieu of flowers, Bill's family requests donations be made in his name to Mighty Oaks Foundation at: www.mightyoaksprograms.org William Glenn Patterson of Prosper, Texas, passed away July 13, 2022, in his sleep. He will always be remembered as a man of integrity who loved his family deeply. He often said that he would do anything for his girls. So very often, he told Karen that she is the love of his life. And every time someone said “God is good,” he always said, “All the time.” Bill was born in Oklahoma City on April 1, 1958. When people commented on his April Fool’s Day birthday, he always said, “I may have been born a fool, but I wasn’t raised one.” Bill was raised by his loving parents Ralph and Gloria along with his siblings Steve, Ann, Rick and Kimber. He is now having a reunion in heaven with his parents, Steve, Karen’s parents, and so many other loved ones that we still miss here on earth. Bill earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at his beloved Oklahoma State University, which is where he met Karen through a divine appointment set up by God through Bill’s sister Ann (Karen’s roommate). The sweethearts were married on May 19, 1984 in Tulsa. After Bill and Karen graduated from OSU, their work took them to the Houston area, where Bill had an outstanding career as an engineer and a manager in the tech industry. Bill and Karen lived in their last Houston home for 27 years, where they raised their daughters Laura and Kathy. In recent years, both girls have married amazing young men and settled in the DFW area. So, in 2019, Bill and Karen moved to Prosper to be closer to them and all of the other Texas and Oklahoma family. In the past year, Bill was so thrilled to watch his family grow and he cherished every visit with his girls and their precious babies, Patrick and August. The proud Gamma and Gramps were so thrilled to play with both grandbabies, now 13 months old. In the last few weeks, Bill got to see a lot of both boys. He loved nuzzling them to hear all the baby giggles. Bill had such a large, but close family. He is survived by his wife, Karen Patterson; daughters, Laura Douglas and husband, Kyle, and Kathy Ewert and husband, Allen; grandchildren, Patrick Douglas and August Ewert; siblings, Ann Morris and husband, Tim, Rick Patterson and wife, Dawn, and Kimber Wilkins, and husband, Scott; sister-in-law Marla Patterson; his uncle Lee, and many loving nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Amber Schulien and Walter and Tula Patterson; parents, Ralph and Gloria Patterson, and brother, Steve Patterson.
