Wanda Lea Fulps

Services honoring the life of Wanda Lea Fulps will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wanda Lea was born on Tuesday, October 1, 1929 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to James Irvin and Mary “Artie” (Harvill) Ahrend. Wanda Lea passed away in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the age of 89. Wanda Lea married her lifelong love, J.W. “Bud” Fulps on December 29, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with three children, Lynna, Steve and Mike. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Wanda Lea adored her family and loved spending time with them. Wanda Lea, along with Bud, helped co-found Arrow Exterminators, Inc. located on Main Street in Broken Arrow, as well as many other businesses in Broken Arrow. Wanda Lea was a hard worker all her life. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on her ranch, riding around on the four-wheelers and just being immersed in nature. In her youth Wanda Lea loved playing softball and was an All-State guard in basketball. Later, she was also the first Red Cross director to give swimming lessons in Broken Arrow. Wanda Lea is survived by daughter, Lynna Pearson and husband Lonnie, of Broken Arrow, sons, Steve Fulps and wife Cindy, of Broken Arrow, and Mike Fulps and fianc’e Ivette Munoz de Cotte, also of Broken Arrow, Grandchildren, Erin Davis, Jake Kelley, Neisha Kelley and Lindsey, Lacey and Cody Pearson, Steve and Hollie Fulps, Farrah Fulps, Tyler and Stacey Fulps, and Eli, Chelsea, and Hunter Fulps, as well as seventeen great-grandchildren who all adored her very much. She is also survived by her brother Preston and wife Clara Ahrend, and Norman and Sheila Ahrend, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda Lea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband JW “Bud” Fulps, and her brother Garland Ray Ahrend.
