Thomas Ferguson

Thomas “Tom” Loy Ferguson was born on Monday, September 25, 1944 in Monroe, Louisiana to Orland Hugh and Mileta Faye (Zeigler) Ferguson. He passed from this life on Monday, February 1, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Tom graduated from Newellton, Louisiana High School in 1963, and then served in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Tom moved to Ponca City, OK where he married and had two daughters. Tom worked construction on Kaw Dam, H&N Sporting Goods, Huffy and Firestone before retiring from the City of Ponca City Parks and Recreation Department in 1996. Through the years Tom was a Ponca City High School football referee, youth football coach, and member of the Ponca City AMBUCS. He was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose, where he served in several different positions throughout the years and ultimately was the place he met his wife Sandy. He and Sandy married on June 19, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and enjoyed sixteen years together as husband and wife. Tom was an elaborate storyteller who had a huge infectious personality that people loved being around. He was a true sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching LSU, OSU, Dallas Cowboys football, and NASCAR. Tom is survived by: His wife, Sandy, of their home in Tulsa Daughter, Rene Brown of Lees Summit, Missouri Daughter, Tracy Circle and husband Jason of Blackwell, Oklahoma Stepson, John Englett and wife Mindy Jo of Avant, Oklahoma 9 Grandchildren: Autumn Kincaid and husband Dusty; Justice Circle; Hollie Brown; Christopher Brown; Crystal Brown; Lauren Baker; Christian Bingamon; Tyler Bingamon and Michael Bingamon 10 Great-Grandchildren: Bryer; Knox; Jennifer; Lalaine; Aiden; Dalis; Deshawn; Miguel; Brian and Issac Sister, Orlinda Blanchard and husband Doug of Plaquemine, Louisiana Niece, Tori Berthelot and husband Jarred of Plaquemine, Louisiana Nephew, Brent Blanchard and wife Roci of Lakeland, Louisiana Family would like to acknowledge the following special people in Tom’s life: Allison "Poo" Mashburn (Honorary Granddaughter) Greg and Debbie Teasley and family He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland H. and Mileta F.
