Thomas D. Dark

A funeral service for Thomas D. Dark has been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Thomas Dark was born on Thursday, January 30, 1930 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the son of Bert Lee and Jenny (Anderson) Dark. He died on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was 86 years of age. Thomas was a 1948 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Upon graduation Thomas was awarded a football scholarship to University of Tulsa where he attended for three years. He was an oil field equipment salesman and worked for Getty, Phillips, and Chevron Oil Companies. On June 1, 1949 he married Dorothy Mae Collins in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with two children. Thomas was a wonderful husband, father and provider for his family. Seven years after Dorothy passed away in September of 1990, Thomas found love again and married Norma “Jean” Collins on December 9, 1997 in a Miami wedding ceremony. Thomas was a great athlete in his youth. His sport of choice was football and he earned his place in the Broken Arrow Football Hall of Fame in 2002. In his free time, Thomas was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed traveling and had toured many wonderful destinations. Thomas is survived by, Wife, Jean Dark, Broken Arrow, OK Children, Tom Dark and wife Lana, Oologah, OK Tony Dark, Tulsa, OK Vicki Ashley, Boston, MA Jana Murphee, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Jeny, Jessi and Todd, Greg and Marcela, Andy and Jessica, Katie and Bryan, Tom, Eliza, Magen and Craig, Trent and Porsha Great Grandchildren, Sydney, Jakub, Baylee, Eli, Emory, Nick, Tommy, Romi, Alec, Dylan Thomas was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, his parents, siblings Andy, Bob, Virginia Harper, Warren and Bert Dark.
