Sherry Gildehaus

Sherry (Bland) Gildehaus was born on April 2, 1946 in Enid Oklahoma, the daughter of Dwain Bland and Stella (Boyd) Bland. She unexpectedly passed from this life on November 13, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 77 years of age. Sherry grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1964. In a bold move, she went back to school later in life to further her education at University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma. She received her degree in Biology. Sherry met the love of her life, Brian Gildehaus and they married in Houston Texas in 1986. In Houston, she worked in executive positions for Marsh McClellan Insurance. In 2000, Brian and Sherry moved to Tulsa to be closer to family, then their life really changed in 2011 when they moved to the golf course of The Club of Indian Springs. This is where they built an amazing group of friends that she referred to as her family. She was highly involved in many activities which included golfing, gardening, interior home decorating, playing couples bridge and volunteering for the C.G.A. Board. She loved hosting parties, especially outdoor gatherings on her amazing back patio. Her infectious smile and laughter were always the life of the party. She would never back down from a controversial conversation and she always held her ground even if her opinions were not popular. She was always on the go between Tulsa, Houston, Colorado and Palm Springs. She loved living life to the fullest and finding joy in every day. She also loved spending time and traveling with her daughter and grandchildren. She never turned down an opportunity to watch Adyson dance, play softball, take her shopping or answer Ellie and Grace’s many questions. The mutual admiration and love between her and her grandchildren was unwavering Sherry made an impact in every life that she touched. Sherry will be missed by those that were fortunate enough to have known her.
