Robert "Bob" Thomas

Robert “Bob” Taylor Thomas Robert “Bob” Thomas was born June 14th, 1936 in Newcastle, OK to Giles and Bertha Thomas. He was called home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the age of 88 years old. Bob was a 1954 graduate of Newcastle High School. Afterwards, he attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee where he received his associate’s degree in accounting; but most importantly, it was the town in which he met his beautiful wife, Carol Blevins. He served overseas for 2 years in the United States Army. When he came home, he and Carol were married June 16, 1961. They then moved to Tulsa and started a family with their daughters, Beth and Amy. From then on, his three girls were his whole world. Bob was a devoted and loyal husband, a doting father, a loving papa, a compassionate friend, a dedicated employee, a faithful member of his church, Abiding Harvest, a selfless servant, an unwavering and steadfast man of God, and the true epitome of love thy neighbor. As a man of few words, he taught us so much by example. But he always had a story or a joke in his back pocket, and knew how to brighten the lives of those around him with his sweet and gentle spirit…and unassuming sense of humor. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, watching football, and playing pool with the men at church every Thursday. But his greatest love was spending time with his family, his grandchildren and especially the love of his life, Carol. Bob is survived by his wonderful wife of 63 years, Carol Thomas, loving daughters, Beth and husband Greg Fuller, Amy and husband Chuck Saia, dear grandchildren, Mitchell and wife Shanna Fuller, Jillian Fuller, Abigail and husband Andrew Truxillo, Zachary Saia, and Taylor Saia, and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ginger Thomas. A great grandson is expected in October. He was met in heaven by his parents, Giles and Bertha Thomas, brother and wife, James and Ann Thomas, and in-laws Floyd and Pearl Blevins. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and technicians at St. Francis Hospital, especially- Bria, Mary, Megan, Hannah, and Makayla- for their attentive and compassionate care during his stay. The family requests memorials to Abiding Harvest Church, 4407 South Olive Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK, 74011 or Afton Assembly of God Church, 214 South Downing Avenue, Afton, OK 74331. Celebration of life in his honor will be held Monday, September 23rd at 2:00PM at Abiding Harvest Church, 4407 South Olive Avenue, Broken Arrow, OK, 74011.
