Oma Alice Jones, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of May 29, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 99. She was a woman of quiet strength, enduring grace, and boundless love — a true matriarch whose presence shaped the lives of all who knew her. Oma was born on January 10, 1927, in Williams, Oklahoma, to James “Truitt” and Ruby Mae Bridges. The family settled in Broken Arrow when she was two years old, and it was there that she would spend her childhood, graduate from Broken Arrow High School in the spring of 1945, and meet the man who would become her partner in life — Robert Lee Jones, Jr., known to family and friends as R.L. or Bob. Oma and R.L. were married on May 12, 1945, and together they built a life defined by hard work, devotion, and deep family bonds. Over the years they raised two children, worked side by side to provide a better future, and eventually settled on a small farm just outside of Broken Arrow — the home that would become the heart of the family for decades to come. She was a devoted mother to her children, Patricia and Larry, and later a cherished grandmother to Danny, Annette, and Laura. When her great-grandchildren — Miranda, Presleigh, Heath, and Ryan — came along, she embraced each of them with the same warmth and joy she had always given so freely. To every generation, she was simply “Oma” — a name that, in German, means grandmother, and one she wore with great pride. In her later years, Oma was known for her famous oatmeal cookies, her love of bridge, her passion for ballroom dancing, and her unwavering smile. She was active in her church community and treasured her lifelong friendships. Even as time slowed her steps and dimmed her memory, her warmth never faded. She always had a smile for those around her — always. After 99 years, 4 months, and 19 days of a life well and fully lived, the Lord called her home. She is now reunited with her beloved R.L., together again after 35 years apart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Truitt and Ruby Bridges, and her brother, Carl Bridges.
