Myra Trahern

Myra Dorene Trahern, born and educated in Eastern Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord on April 19th, with loved ones by her side in her home in Broken Arrow. Shortly after she and Wayne married, they moved to the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area where she began her banking career of 40 plus years. She loved to travel but she also loved home. She and Wayne enjoyed gardening and fishing together and they thoroughly enjoyed making memories with their daughter, Rhonda, and her family. Although distance made things difficult, it was her joy to be involved as her granddaughters grew up and now her great-granddaughters' lives as well. Myra was a person that could be described as a very capable leader but also did not mind doing things behind the scenes. Whatever task that she was performing, she wanted to please the Lord. This equipped her to love and serve people well in all walks of life. She served in several capacities before becoming VP at Liberty Bank, which is now Chase. During that time, she had the opportunity to join EWI, (Executive Women's International) and advanced to become not only the President of the Tulsa Chapter but also Internationally. She loved her church, (FBC, BA) and served in the women's ministry, ladies bible study, as well as several other areas. She loved her Sunday School class and was known to take food or visit those who needed some extra care. She will be terribly missed by many friends and family but we are thankful for the godly legacy she left; and we can rejoice knowing that she is completely whole and healed in heaven with Jesus her Savior. She is preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Nellie Norris, and her siblings, Roger Norris, Billy Norris, Barbara Waring, and Dennis Norris. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne, of Broken Arrow, her daughter, Rhonda Edwards and husband Steve of Jacksonville, Texas, granddaughters, Meagan Edwards and Ashley Edwards of Jacksonville, Texas, and three great-granddaughters, Emery, Audrey and Tenley.
