Marilyn J. Paxson

Marilyn Jean Paxson of Tulsa, OK went to be with her Lord on January 13, 2025 at the age of 91. She was born in Arickaree, Colorado, on January 4, 1934 to parents Charles Edgar and Sarah Iva Blair. She grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1952. Two days after graduating from high school, she married Roy (Bill) William Paxson at the First Assembly of God Church in Colorado Springs where they met two years earlier. She worked at H&H Printing Company in Colorado Springs during the early years of her marriage. In 1969 she enrolled in El Paso Community College to fulfill her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She received her degree in 1972 and thoroughly enjoyed her nursing career. She worked at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs before moving to Arlington, TX in 1980. She was employed at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX and retired from there after 12 years of service. Roy and Marilyn moved to Oklahoma when Roy’s company, Central and South West Services, transferred him to Tulsa. She was an active member of Woodlake Church since moving to Tulsa. She was a charter member of the South Country Estates Retirement Club and thoroughly enjoyed the monthly fellowship and dinner meetings. Marilyn’s hobbies included collecting salt and pepper shakers, Precious Moment figurines and post cards. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboy games. She loved to travel, read and spend time with her 2 grandsons. Her great-grandson, Enid, was a special joy to her. She was preceded in death by Roy, her loving husband of 64 years; her parents; Charles Edgar and Sarah Iva Blair of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters; Muriel Haase, Dorothy Hoover and Alta Cotton and brothers Clifford Blair and Jackson Blair and her son, Jonathan H. Paxson of Colorado Springs, CO. Marilyn is survived by; her daughter, Valerie Jean Campbell and husband, Dale; two grandsons, Brian and Andrew Campbell (Rachel) and great grandson Enid James, all of Blackwell, OK; and many other extended family members and devoted friends.
