Maria Irene Rodriguez

Maria ”Nana” Irene Rodriguez, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 74. A funeral service honoring her life will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Broken Arrow Baptist Temple with burial following at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Friends may visit Maria at the funeral home Tuesday, January 19th from 12 to 8 pm with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 pm. Maria was born October 27, 1946 in La Blanca, Zacatecas, Mexico to Maximino and Consuelo (Saucedo) Espinoza. While living in Mexico she completed high school and college and became a School Teacher. As a young adult she moved with her family from Mexico to San Antonio, Texas where she was married and was blessed with two children, son Sergio and daughter Nelly. As a single mom she raised her children and started to attend Loma Alta Baptist Church where she received Christ as her Personal Savior. Several years later at the church she met and was married to Simon Rodriguez on July 19, 1989. One of Maria’s greatest achievement was becoming a US citizen on September 11, 1997. During her life Maria enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and quilting. She was a faithful member of Broken Arrow Baptist Temple and once in a while, you could catch her giving some “advice”. Her greatest joy in life came from being a Nana and Nana Grande. She is survived by: Son Sergio Delgado and wife Gloria of San Antonio, Texas Daughter Nelly Martinez and husband Leo III of Broken Arrow Grandchildren Carlos Delgado, Sara Brown and husband Harrison, Leslie Martinez, Leopoldo Martinez IV, Margarita Martinez, Isabella Martinez, Sergio Delgado III, Simon Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Micah Martinez Great-Grandchildren Peyton Brown, Caden Brown, Rylee Brown, Adalee Brown Sisters Manuela Aguilar Maria Bravo Brothers Manuel Espinoza Jose Espinoza Israel Espinoza David Espinoza Maria is predeceased by: Husband Simon Rodriguez Sister Carmen Martinez Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Broken Arrow Baptist Temple Missions Fund; P.O.
