Marguerite Babb

Marguerite transitioned into her eternal home in Heaven peacefully at The Gardens Long Term Care Facility the evening of April 28, 2020 at the age of 90. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Wayne and Sallie (Hicks) Davidson. She was preceded in death by both parents. She graduated from Webster High School in 1947. She was married to Dale Peninger for 25 years and gave birth to two daughters and one son. She married a second time to Ted Babb, who preceded her in death as well. She leaves behind three children, Belinda Sands (Bill) of Broken Arrow; Larry Peninger of Taft; and Beverly Vogt (Dewayne) of Tulsa; as well as four grandchildren: Brent Cates (Dana); Heidi Austin (Eric); Hannah Taylor (Grant); Haley Smith (David); and six great-grandchildren: Deaven Cates, Sara Cates, Eli Austin, Harper Austin, Elliott Austin, and Peter Taylor. One brother: Rev. Donald Davidson of Overland Park, Kansas, one sister: Martha de Lemos of Rockwall, Texas; 3 Nephews, 3 Nieces, 2 Cousins and many beloved friends. Marguerite loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. In the 1960’s she would hold a Bible Class for the neighborhood children. She loved children. She loved gardening and growing the most beautiful roses and other flowers. She also loved to travel – Hawaii was her favorite place to visit, having been there several times. She was the Editor of the Jenks Journal Newspaper from 1967-1972. Marguerite loved her children and was a very caring mother. She learned in 1968 her son, Larry, was going to go out for the school football team. So, she went to the library and checked out as many books as she could find about football so she could learn the game he was going to be playing. She was an accomplished seamstress – always making clothes for her children and grandchildren as well as Barbie clothes for all their dolls. Marguerite resided at The Gardens Long Term Care Facility from January 2012 – April 28, 2020 and made so many wonderful friends while living there. We would like to thank the entire staff and administration for their loving care of our beloved mother while in their care. John 3:16 was her favorite Bible verse.
