Lois Fern Nordberg was born on Monday, July 10, 1944 in Akron, Colorado, the beloved daughter of Jesse Lee and Bessie Ramona (Horn) Batterson. She passed from her broken earthly body to her healed heavenly body and ran into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at her home in Broken Arrow, OK. She was 81 years of age. The former Miss Lois Batterson was a 1962 graduate of Akron High School . She received an Associate Degree of Nursing from Yakima Valley Community College in 1964 and obtained her Registered Nurse License. Lois married the love of her life Marvin Nordberg on July 10, 1965, her 21st birthday, at the Stone Church in Yakima, Washington. They lived in Yakima, Seattle, and the Tri-cities in Washington State where Lois served as an RN in various roles, however her favorite role was as a Homemaker, caring for her husband and three children. Moving to BrokenArrow in 1981 for her husband to work for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, Lois worked for Dr Bob Aikmen OBGYN at ORU Medical Center at the City of Faith, fulfilling her love of serving women and babies. Her greatest tenure and cherished professional role was as the clinic nurse to Dr Sherri Thomas at Family Medical Care of Tulsa, where she retired from in 2005. When the Nordberg family relocated to Broken Arrow they quickly became involved at Broken Arrow Assembly of God Church, where they have called home for the past 45 years. She selflessly served for several years as the founding Nursery Director, overseeing and serving families in their earliest years. She cherished being able to serve in her later years rocking babies in the Nursery. Together with her husband they were longtime members of the church choir and active in their Sunday school class “Harbor Lights” and “Forever Young”. Lois enjoyed homemaking, sewing- making her own wedding dress, hosting family, friends, and ORU/Rhema students for holidays and summer breaks, baking her well loved “Chocolate Chip Cookies”, honoring and encouraging others with homemade greeting cards, adoring her 15 grandchildren, and most of all Interceding in prayer for her family, friends, and others. The family requests memorials to The Assembly, Neighbors & Nations, 3500 West New Orleans, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74011. She is survived by, Husband,Marvin Nordberg, Broken Arrow, OK Sons,Brian and wife Rhea Nordberg, Allen, TX and their children Zane, Connor, Ethan, Kinzie, Tyler, & Ryan Kyle and wife Lisa Nordberg, Leavenworth, KS and their children Kaitlyn, Lucas, Levi, Liam, & Kylie Daughter,Crystal and husband Ronnie Fujikawa, Broken Arrow, OK and their children Jonah, Evan, Noah, & Chloe Brother,Roy Batterson, Lynnwood, WA She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ramona; and infant sister, Lorna Kay.
