Larry Price

Larry Wade Price was born in Durant Oklahoma on February 17, 1949 to parents, Edward E. Price and Verna Louise (Prentice) Price. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 7, 2024. Larry and his parents moved to the small community of Berryhill in Tulsa County when he was about five years old. They attended View Acres Baptist Church for many years, and he put his faith in Jesus as his Savior at a young age. Growing up he loved to go fishing, ride his bicycle, take care of his horse, play with his dog, explore the outdoors and play his trumpet. He loved the outdoors, and became an Eagle Scout. Larry loved to play trumpet so much and practiced for 3-4 hours every day. He competed nationally and internationally during high school. He met the love of his life, Joyce Ann (Crew) Price while playing his trumpet in Youth For Christ his junior year of high school He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1967. Less than a year later, he and Joyce were married on February 24, 1968. Larry attended college at Bob Jones University, The University of Tulsa and earned a bachelor’s degree in music and education from Northeastern Sate University. He and Joyce have two precious children together. Daughter, Melissa was born in 1971 and son, Roger was born in 1974. They also have a son-in-law, Jeff Hardesty and daughter-in-law, April Hansen Price. Grandchildren include, Taylor Faulkner and husband, Duke, Blake Price, Garrett Hardesty and wife, Cierra, Mason Hardesty, Abbey Price, Garrison Hardesty and great-grandson, Author Hardesty. Larry was the band director at Talihina, Fairfax, and Adair Public Schools. Trumpet was his forte, and he played in a few bands including The Young Tulsans, Front Page News and the TJC Community Band. He also worked in the sporting goods department at Walmart and was a courier for Regional Medical Laboratories. He resided in Berryhill most of his life and enjoyed spending time with his family, reading God’s Word, playing trumpet and piano, taking care of his dogs, riding his motorcycles, fishing, photography, and telling others about Jesus Christ.
