Services for Joy McLaughlin have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, July 15, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Rev. Warren “Dan” Haase will officiate. Friends may visit Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow for viewing on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Joy Lea McLaughlin was born on Tuesday, December 27, 1927 in Shawnee, Oklahoma the daughter of Carl and Martha (Blevins) Reid. Joy died on Monday, July 11, 2016 in Broken Arrow surrounded by her family. Joy was a 1945 graduate of Cushing High School and went on to attend Draughon School of Business in Tulsa. She worked as a finance and accounting clerk for the Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa. Joy was married to Sterling McLaughlin and they were blessed with three children. She cherished spending time with her family, especially their trips to New Mexico. Joy was a member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed making crafts and floral arrangements and decorating for holidays and events at her church and the Broken Arrow Senior Center. Joy is survived by, Children, Stan and wife Jayme McLaughlin, Norman, OK Steve and wife Brenda McLaughlin, Barnsdall, OK Jill and husband Larry Bougie, Broken Arrow, OK Grandchildren, Rachael Swanson, Jennifer and husband Greg Sutherland, Mike and wife Ryan McLaughlin, Kirsten and husband Justin Howell, Justin and wife Katy McLaughlin, Drew and wife Liz McLaughlin, Bryce Smith, Caleb Bougie, Joshua Bougie Great Grandchildren, Amanda Hall, Karl Swanson, Britton and Gracelyn Howell, Markie and Audrie McLaughlin, Ema Lee, Sam, and Gabe Jones, Scott and Aimee Sutherland, Connor, Henry, Lucy Belle, Andrew Jr., Matthew and Molly McLaughlin Great Great Grandson, Joshua Hall Sister-in-law, Lucy Robinson, Stillwater, OK Niece, Deb Graves, other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
