Joey Parks

Fred Joseph Parks, affectionately known as Joey, was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Wednesday, June 3, 1954, to Fred William and Norma Beleebonteen (LeGere) Parks. He left his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to meet Jesus on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 71. Joey was one of two children raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he graduated from Rock Hill High School and went on to further his education, earning an associate’s degree from the Church on the Move School of Ministry. Joey met the love of his life, Mary “Tammy” Massey, in his hometown of Rock Hill. He was instantly smitten, and after patiently waiting until her 18th birthday, he made her his wife on Saturday, March 22, 1975. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary — a true testament to their love and devotion. Together, they raised two daughters and poured their hearts into helping raise their three grandchildren, who were like second children to them. Joey treasured his wife, children, and grandchildren above all else. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud “PawPaw,” an incredible brother, a loyal friend, and a faithful minister and deacon. Joey found great joy in creating a childhood full of adventure for his grandkids. He built them a two-story playhouse, a full playset, and even cleared and fenced in a two-acre property so they could ride their Little Tikes vehicles and golf cart around safely. He was happiest when surrounded by family laughter in the backyard. He appreciated a good cup of coffee, a slice of chocolate cake, and his favorite meals — pork chops and seafood. He loved barbecuing, smoking meats, and spending time outdoors. Whether traveling to the mountains or the coast, Joey was a man who savored the beauty of God’s creation. Known for his tireless work ethic, he was always improving his home and land. When his grandchildren were born, he stepped away from his daytime job to be their full-time caretaker — a role he cherished above all others — before later taking on night shifts to continue providing for his family. Joey built his life on the foundation and knowledge of Jesus Christ. He faithfully served in ministry and was honored to work alongside Richard Roberts Ministries. He shared his faith generously and lived a life marked by love, service, and grace. Joey was a proud member of Victory Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Family meant everything to him.
