Joe Ray Blevins

Joe Ray Blevins was born on Saturday, May 9, 1942 in Alma, Oklahoma to parents Ray and Dorothy (Adams) Blevins. He passed away peacefully in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the age of 84. Joe will be remembered as a devoted father, proud grandfather, hardworking businessman, and loyal friend whose generous spirit and strong work ethic touched the lives of many. Joe grew up in Bixby, Oklahoma with his two brothers, Raymond and Darrell and sister, Pat. After graduating from high school in 1959, he was inducted into the United States Army. Upon returning home, Joe became a successful business owner. He married and was blessed with two children; a daughter, Kendra and a son, Lance. Joe cared deeply for his children and took great pride in watching his family to grow in numbers. Joe spent several years serving in law enforcement in Tulsa County. He also served as a fire fighter in Broken Arrow, where he became a Captain, a role he was especially proud of. An intelligent and hardworking businessman, Joe built and owned several car washes throughout the community. He also founded and operated Blevins Construction until his retirement. Racing was one of Joe’s greatest interests. He drove race cars as a young man and later owned a sprint car team, with his son as the driver where they competed with the World of Outlaws. Joe loved spending time outdoors, especially at the lake with Janie, where he spent nearly every weekend if he could. He enjoyed riding around in his golf cart with Duke and Lacy and faithfully feeding the deer every evening. Joe’s memories will be cherished by, soulmate, Janie Fellers of Coweta, Oklahoma; his children, Kendra Hoop and her husband, John of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lance Blevins and his wife, Abigail of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shaylee Thorson and her husband, Tanner, Brooklyn Blevin, his bonus grand-children whom he loved dearly; his great-grandchild, Blakelee Thorson; his siblings, Darrell Blevins and Pat Cox; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. His family will forever treasure the love, laughter and wisdom and the memories he shared with them as well as the lasting example he set through his devotion to family, hard work and the people he cared about. Preceded in death by parents, Ray and Dorothy Blevins and brother, Raymond Blevins. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
