Jeromy Ray

Jeromy Wayne Ray of Broken Arrow, OK graduated to God’s Heavenly Choir on March 8, 2026 at the age of 55. Jeromy was born in Amarillo, TX September 27, 1970 to Gary and Dorothy Ray. In 1971, the family moved to Kirtland, NM where he and his younger sister, Cheryl, were raised to love the Lord surrounded by a large family and a strong, supportive community. A proud member of the Class of ’88, Jeromy graduated from Kirtland Central High School. Not willing to choose one parent’s alma mater over the other, he pursued a business degree at both the University of New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico University. He graduated in 1992 and began a life of following wherever the Lord led him through a series of career paths. No matter where God planted his feet, or what mission field He sent him to, Jeromy was excited to share a smile and the Love of Christ, whether that was at the French Mortuary in Albuquerque, NM, as a State Farm Claims agent in Ft. Worth, TX, the Resident Services Coordinator at Baptist Village in Broken Arrow, OK, or at the many churches where he served as music or youth leader, or both. God created in Jeromy a sense of adventure, a love of people, and a desire to share the Gospel with everyone he encountered. Jeromy officially began his ministry work as the music leader at First Baptist Church Kirtland, the very church he grew up in. He continued to serve in churches across New Mexico and Texas. September 2010 changed Jeromy’s life forever. That was when eHarmony introduced him to Amy Lynn Lykins. The day he met her, he knew she was the one - the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. On September 29, 2012, Jeromy and Amy exchanged vows and began building a beautiful life in Broken Arrow, OK, where they adopted two amazing sons, Sean and Nic. He loved spending time with his family, and surprising his wife and children with fun road trips and adventures. Jeromy was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Wayne and Lurline Owen, his Paternal Grandparents, Halley and Iris Lea Ray, his aunt Mildred Beason, uncles Bob, Bill, and Jim Owen, his aunts Hazel, Hazel and Tommie Owen, and his dog Gracie. He is survived by his wife Amy Lynn (Lykins) Ray and two sons, Sean Dakota Ray and Nicholas (Nic) Mankanto Ray, all of Broken Arrow, OK; his parents, Gary and Dorothy (Owen) Ray of Porter, OK; his father- and mother-in- law Jay and Lynn Lykins of Coweta, OK; his sister Cheryl (Ray) McCorcle and her husband Ross of Coweta, OK; his sister-in-law Mary Lee Sonke and her husband Daniel of Roseville, CA; his brother-in-law Jason Lykins and his wife Marla of Boulder, CO; and his nieces and nephews, Halley and Easton Bark and their son Westley of Coweta, OK, Ashley McCorcle of Tulsa, OK, Roy McCorcle of Broken Arrow, OK, Ruby and Eve Lykins of Boulder, CO, Jacob, Emily, William, and Calvin Sonke of Roseville, CA; and his dogs Liberty and Freedom. Jeromy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives in all of us. His life, a testament to the Power of Jesus Christ. The Celebration of Jeromy’s life will be held at South Tulsa Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK at 1pm Friday, March 20. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital can be made in his memory.
