James Logan

Jimmy was dealt a hard hand as a year old baby when he contracted polio. His legs were affected but his spirit and heart grew beyond physical limitation. He met every challenge with a determination to succeed, an ever present smile, and a contagious laugh. A die hard Elvis fan, he was passionate about music, and usually had a song on his lips. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1967. He was a football fanatic and a passionate Sooner fan who could recite every important play of every Championship game. On game day he could be found glued to the television with one of his beloved boxers or doberman dogs by his side. He was the eldest of five brothers who he kept constantly engaged in projects such as launching model rockets, backyard baseball, football, and shooting BB guns. He achieved the rank of Star Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America. Trains, planes, and cars were a lifelong fascination. He got his pilot's license at a time when it was difficult for the disabled to be licensed and he loved the freedom flying afforded him. He took meticulous care of his cars which he polished until they looked as if they had come off the showroom floor. In 1990 he met the beautiful redheaded Claire in Pacifica graduate school in Santa Barbara CA. They were married in 1994 in Albuquerque NM. Jimmy loved the history and rugged beauty of New Mexico where they lived for many years. He and Claire forged an unbreakable bond of love and mutual admiration, and were each other's fiercest friend, advocate, lover and partner for over thirty years. He was a skilled craftsman who at a young age could design and build furniture He carried those skills into adulthood as a home builder and developer. In mid life he took his career in a different direction by earning a doctorate in Psychology, specializing in couples and family counseling. He touched the lives of many by providing guidance, understanding, compassion, and support. Family and friends were the nucleus and and core of his life. He had an indomitable spirit that was a gift and inspiration to all who knew him. His spirit of joy and courage live on in the many people whose lives he touched. He will be forever loved and missed.
