Frederick Marsh

Frederick Raymond Marsh was born on December 30, 1940 in El Reno, Oklahoma, the son of George Edwin Marsh and Isabelle Catherine Yohe Marsh. He passed from this life on March 9, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 84. Fred grew up in Oklahoma City, he was an Eagle Scout and a highly decorated athlete, he graduated high school from Bishop McGuiness High school in 1959, where he was inducted into the Bishop McGuiness Sports Hall of Fame for football, baseball and track in 2003. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he played college football for the Sooners. Fred worked for the United States Postal Service and worked his way up to Postmaster and Postal Inspector. He also volunteered as a police officer in Del City. He attended police academy in 1970 and worked his way up the ranks to be a detective and was for many years. After Retiring from the postal service and the police department in the 1990s, he opened a private investigation company. He loved guns, camping, boats, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, dancing, football, and watching John Wayne & James Bond & other action movies. Above all, he loved his family; he required his family to eat dinner every night at the dining room table, where everyone was together and talked about their day. He told many stories at the dinner table, where his children’s friends would come over and eat and describe him as the most interesting man they ever met. During the holidays Fred’s home would be full of kids, grandchildren and chaos. Grand kids and in-laws would be playing sports in the front yard and shooting bows and arrows in the backyard. And in every room of the house there were groups of family members deep in conversations & laughter. His legacy will live on; after 7 children and 41 grandchildren & great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.
