Erma Peters, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed peacefully from this life on November 18, 2024 at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Erma was born in Haskell, Oklahoma to Dewey and Pearly Mae Arnold Thomas on July 22, 1941 as one of a set of triplets. She shared a special lifelong bond with her triplet siblings, brother Arnold (affectionately known as Bub) and her sister Oma. Erma grew up in the Porter area and graduated from Porter High School. On June 29, 1962 she married Billie Glen Peters. They ultimately settled in Wagoner, Oklahoma where they began to raise their family. Erma enjoyed a long career working in the Accounting Department at the offices of Prestolite Electric in Wagoner, and retired from Prestolite in 1992. A few years after Erma’s retirement she and Bill moved to Mesa, AZ so Bill could complete his career working in the aircraft industry. They spent roughly 13 years in Mesa until Bill retired in August 2007. At that time, they moved back to Broken Arrow to be near family, especially their two grandchildren. Erma was preceded in death by the following members of her immediate family: her parents Dewey and Pearly Mae Thomas, her husband of over 50 years, Billie Glen Peters, brothers Carrel Thomas, Edward Dee Thomas, and Arnold Thomas, as well as her sisters Naoma McLemore and Mildred Tackett. Erma is survived by her children Dewey Peters and wife Deana of Wagoner; her daughter Shannon Medico and husband Jim of Tulsa; her two grandchildren Dylan Peters and wife BreAnne of Tulsa and Abby Medico of Tulsa, three sisters: Elsie Hull of Broken Arrow, Shirley Bowers and husband Sid of Broken Arrow, and Oma Thomas of Louisburg, KS as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends for whom she had great love and affection. Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, OK. Interment will be at Haskell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Seasons Hospice, whose staff members provided friendship, and loving and compassionate care to Erma during the final stages of her life.
