Edwin Horton

Edwin C. Horton was born in Hominy, Oklahoma to parents, Roscoe Junior and Dorothy Lee (DeWitt) Horton on Wednesday, December 24, 1947. He joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 16, 2026. He left his home in Coweta, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family who welcomed his “home going” with joy and gratefulness. Edwin was 78 years old and his years of faith touched many lives. Edwin will be greatly missed. Edwin was a third of six children. He graduated from Prue High School in 1966 and a year later was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served during the Vietnam War until his discharge on June 1st, 1969. Edwin took the opportunity to earn his certification as an electrician with Electrical Union 584. He went to work at American Airlines as a plant maintenance mechanic until his retirement in 2008. June 28, 1965, Edwin met the love and light of his life, the sweet and feisty, Beverly Morrison. Their souls were created for each other and they were inseparable. Edwin and Beverly were joined in Holy Matrimony on Friday, September 19, 1969, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Their first daughter Carey Dawn was born February 9, 1971. Then they completed their family with Lana Danielle on October 16, 1973. Together they created a God-loving life with many wonderful memories to treasure. Ed was very skilled at fixing all the ‘this and that’s’ life threw his way. He worked on cars and could often be found helping others. Ed was a man who thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, God’s Country! He loved hunting when he wasn’t fishing. Upon retirement, Edwin and Bev toured all over the USA as well as Canada and Mexico. Through everything, Edwin’s top priority was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! He was lovingly known as the “BA Expressway Missionary” leading many people to the Lord. Edwin served the Lord at Broken Arrow Assembly of God Church as a Board Member for 14 years as well as started and taught the Evangelism and Discipleship Class. Edwin was a wonderful husband and father. He loved sacrificially to ensure his family was loved and taken care of. Edwin is loved and honored by, Wife, Beverly Horton of Coweta, Oklahoma Children, Carey Dawn and Ken Freeman and Moises Siqueira Grandchildren, Channing LeAnn, Kendall Blake, Ella Grace, Claire Elizabeth Great-Grandchildren, Riley Shayne, Lucas James Siblings, Estee Eubanks, Dean Horton, LaVonna Horton, Loretta Scott Preceded in death by his precious daughter, Lana Danielle Siqueira, grandparents, Roscoe Sr. and Bessie Horton, parents, Roscoe, Jr. and Dorothy Horton, in-laws, Rev. Hurschel and Wilma Morrison, and brother, Jim Horton.
