Donna Jean Clarkson

Donna Jean (Stumbo) Clarkson, age 85, passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Donna was born April 15,1939 to Michael and Violet Stumbo in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She grew up in Dawson Township in Tulsa County with her mother and stepfather, Spencer “Bud” Hunt, and younger sister Sandra. She attended Cherokee Elementary and Jr. High, where she was crowned Jr. High’s Indian Princess. She graduated from Central High school in 1957. Donna was united in marriage to Richard Clarkson Jr. on June 22, 1956. They were blessed with two children; daughter Robin, and son Russell. In addition to being a homemaker, Donna worked part time as a florist at Flowers by Sally Ann and also earned a cosmetology degree. Donna enjoyed square dancing, family vacations, bunco, cooking, and attending craft shows. She was a very talented painter and was a member of the Tulsa Town Tolers. Donna’s true passion was reading. She was baptized at the age of 8 in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Community of Christ), where she remained an active member throughout her life. For Donna, family was her greatest joy. Donna was a very involved grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was always helping with school projects, spending time in the playhouse, or being a listening ear. She had three grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, and Christopher, as well as two great-grandchildren, Blakely and Parker. Donna is survived by her daughter Robin Buchman, son Russell (Florence) Clarkson, granddaughter Brooke (Josiah) Lund, grandson Christopher Clarkson, great-grandchildren Blakely and Parker; Sister Sandra MacKool; Niece Amber MacKool (David Dowland), Niece Teresa McGinnis, Nephew Sean MacKool and numerous other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Clarkson Jr., son-in-law Steve Buchman, and grandson Blake Buchman. To honor Donna, a celebration of live will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Donna will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Little Light House.
