Deanna Scott

Deanna Lee Scott was born to parents Curtis Lee and Ruth Darlene (Tally) Eskew in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, May 19, 1956. She passed away to be with Jesus, sleeping peacefully, surrounded by loving family and friends, on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the age of 69, in Glenpool, Oklahoma, Deanna was one of three children in Lincoln, but when her mother passed away in 1968 she was sent to live on the West Coast. In spite of the various trials in circumstances, her faith in her Heavenly Father endured; she often reminded family, “remember, God is in control!” She graduated from South High School (Bakersfield, CA) in 1975. She was Saved-Born Again...and came to meet Matthew Scott through a Calvary Chapel Friday night “Mara'Natha Concert” event in 1978 in Bakersfield, and rededicated her life to Jesus - the two of them became inseparable. They married in Bakersfield, on Saturday, April 26, 1980, and started their family. She was a dedicated wife and mother of five. Deanna relished the fact that she could stay at home; she thrived raising her ‘crazy boys.’ She liked riding the bus with her kids, watching cartoons with them, having water-hose fights and enlisting the kids in games of Uno & Yahtzee. Deanna's faith in Jesus and devotion to Matthew and 'her boys' was definitely her priority, the joy of her life. She humbly lived out her relationship with God – through Christ, and was a devout prayer warrior, maintaining her own prayer list. Deanna loved reading her Bible and enjoyed watching chapter-by-chapter Bible studies on a regular basis. She shared her faith with others and enjoyed writing letters to friends & family, journaling, and regularly writing 'letters to Jesus'. Deanna (with Matthew) was becoming a member of Woodlake Church, Bixby. Some of her favorite scriptures were John 3:3, Psalm 84, Revelation, and the book of Job. Deanna enjoyed coloring with her grandchildren and nephews & nieces and making necessary things for the house, like curtains. She was a lady with many talents - enjoyed staying busy, and ALWAYS made time to take walks with her beloved Yorkie – Deputy! Deanna had an artistic flair and liked sketching birds in the trees. Deanna's great love was joining Matthew wherever he was; studying in libraries, playing music or projects in the garage; they cherished being together. Deanna enjoyed camping and traveling to the beach, splashing her feet in the waves - feeling her toes in the sand. She enjoyed 90’s country music videos and older contemporary Christian worship music. She also enjoyed movie & television detective/murder mysteries and romantic comedies. There is much to be said for a life well lived, and Deanna loved Jesus and her life with her family and friends. Family to cherish her love and memories, Husband, Matthew Scott of Glenpool, Oklahoma Children, Kit Scott and Shelby of Sapulpa, Oklahoma Nick Scott and Jade of Jacksonville, Florida Sean Scott of Eugene, Oregon Ben Scott and Stephanie of Eugene, Oregon Joseph Scott and Mehri of Winnemucca, Nevada 23 Grandchildren Sibling, John Irons and Nancy of Lincoln, Nebraska Deanna was preceded in death by parents Curtis and Ruth Eskew, her beloved mother-in-law Lonnie Gates, beloved sister-in-laws Michele Scott, Lynice Cowherd, Diedra Gates and sister -in-Christ Melody Davis and sibling, Susie Douglas.
